Use StreetWise Professional to maintain a high quality Local Land and Property Gazeteer (LLPG), also called a Corporate Address Gazetteer (CAG) in Scotland, and to realise the benefit of your LLPG or CAG by cleaning and maintaining the quality of address data across your local authority.
In response to the eGovernment initiative to make the sale and purchase of land and property faster and easier, using the National Land information Service (NLIS), every council had to create a LLPG or CAG that conforms with BS7666. This is a British Standard devised to facilitate the creation of the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) and comprises four parts covering Street Gazetteers, Land and Property Gazetteers, Addresses and Rights of Way. A similar system is in place to create a Definitive National Gazetteer for Scotland (DNAS).
An operational BS7666 compliant LLPG, or CAG, is an essential prerequisite for ongoing involvement in the NLPG or DNAS.
An accurate single view of land and property is also fundamental for the effective delivery of all local council ‘Customer First’ initiatives.
Infoshare has created LLPG and CAGs for over 90 local authorities. This required the matching and integration of AddressPoint, Council Tax, Electoral Roll, Non domestic rates and other databases. This included several dual-language Welsh gazetteers.
All available gazetteers have their strengths and weaknesses, if you need to combine several gazetteers to produce a gazetteer that is ideal for you – Infoshare’s StreetWise Professional can also help. With StreetWise you can easily and simply create a gazetteer from any number of those available – for example, combine NLPG, your local gazetteer and selected data from OS MasterMap Address Layer 2.

Local Authorities that have built their corporate gazetteers, whether in StreetWise Professional or other systems, are now choosing StreetWise Professional to enhance and maintain the quality of their address data across their organisations.
StreetWise Professional can also work as a cleaning and diagnostic tool for master
GMS systems - any DTF6.3 or DTF7.3 file can be loaded into our software.
StreetWise Professional addresses these key challenges:
- Create a comprehensive LLPG or CAG with maximum accuracy, synchronised for ongoing maintenance with the NLPG hub or DNAS.
- Integrating data from multiple sources e.g. the electoral register, council tax and planning, refuse collection routes, non-domestic rates, AddressPoint or PAF and the Street Gazetteer
- An easy to use, reliable way of cleaning and correcting address data in applications across the council
StreetWise Professional provides the solution for resolving LLPG and CAG queries and maintaining accuracy levels within the LLPG and CAG through sub-field audit trails and synchronisation with legacy systems. The software cleanses, corrects, validates and integrates data to sub building level. Audit trails highlight which records cannot be matched or unreliable, so any inaccuracies can be traced back and resolved.
