I
was interested to read that some experts have
warned that no single vendor offers a complete
solution for compliance with all corporate governance
rules (Suites keep data within law, 14 June).
This probably is the case. But what is of
greater concern is the focus on nuts and bolts
IT compliance - security, document management,
reporting and process management. What if
the data itself is wrong?
Surely
a key part of compliance must be factually measuring
existing data quality and then determining the
gap between a company's current data accuracy
and 100 percent accuracy. Only then can
you determine how the chasm translates into revenue
loss. And only then can you confidently
implement IT compliance solutions.
